The Decatur County Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the 2026 Up In Smoke BBQ Competition on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Sappa Park (1898 1300th Rd., Oberlin, KS 67749).
Spend the day enjoying championship barbecue, friendly competition, and a great community atmosphere. Whether you’re competing, sponsoring, or simply coming out for a delicious meal, there’s something for everyone!
BBQ Supper
Everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious BBQ supper beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until sold out.
- Meal Cost: $15 per person
Bring your family and friends and enjoy some outstanding barbecue prepared by our competition teams.

- Business name listed on advertisements and participation flyers

There are only 25 team spots available, so register early!

Registration Information
- Entry Fee: $100 per team
- Camping: $10 per night (Thursday & Friday nights; total registration with camping is $120)
- Grills Only (Primitive): $5 per night
Your entry fee includes:
- A BBQ meal for up to four team members
- Contest meats provided by the event
Teams are responsible for providing their own:
- Beans
- Open Class entries
