The Decatur County Area Chamber is excited to announce the launch of our yard of the month program.
We would like to recognize our homeowners who strive to beautifully maintain their property and add to the overall appeal of Decatur County.
Each month we will select a yard or two to feature as our yard of the month, This is open to ALL Decatur County residence, whether you live in town or in the rural areas of our county. We want to showcase your hard work and dedication for maintaining a beautiful lawn and property.
We will award our winners monthly during the months of May-September. Yard of the months are judged solely on their exterior appearance of the property as viewed from the street(s). Yards will be judged on neatness, lushness, landscaping color, and a visual appealing façade.
Here are a few criteria for yard of the month, but not limited to:
* Yard is mowed and trimmed & well maintained
* Yard must be free of debris, clutter, and junk
* Flower beds are weed free & well maintained
*Trees and shrubs are pruned
Here are some rules for our yard of the month:
* Nominations for yard of the month can be made by emailing recommendations to;
office@oberlin-ks–chamber.org
Yes, you can nominate yourself and your hard work! You deserve to be recognized too!!
* Nominations MUST include name of owner(s), address of property, & picture of property.
* Winners must be willing to have their picture taken and allow the DC Chamber to put on social media and in the Oberlin Herald.
* Winners must be willing to allow us to put a yard of the month to sign in their yard.
* Nominations must be received by the 20th of each month
* Winners will be selected by the first of each month
* Yard of the month signs will be placed in the winning yards on the or near the fifth of each month.
Our chamber is looking to revitalize the sense of pride within our communities and our county, by bringing the yard of the month program. Be Proud of the community you live in and all the hard work that you and/or your neighbor does to beautify our communities. Get those nominations in!!
