Oberlin-Decatur County Economic Development (EDC) (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089798041783) has been hard at work the last six months plus months. In late 2023 Sharee Dempewolf; EDC Executive Director, & Christy Preston; Northwest Region, Network Kansas E-Community Coach, started have meetings on becoming an E-Community with Network Kansas. Sharee & Christy then had several meetings with the EDC board about the benefits of becoming a partner with Network Kansas (www.networkkansas.com). The EDC board agreed for Sharee to pursue this amazing partnership; the application process started in late February and had to be finalized by April 1, 2024.
The application is a very competitive process. Sharee & the EDC board were notified that their application had been ACCEPTED in late April! The EDC board & Sharee have been working closely with Christy Preston on training for this new programs & resources for all of Decatur County. On behalf of the EDC board, we are excited to bring more resources to our local businesses, future startup businesses & more!!
