Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? I personally don’t make them, but for me as the chamber President & the Chamber board, our resolution is to make the Decatur County Chamber work harder and better for our chamber members and our communities. Our goal is to be the best chamber around!
That said, yearly memberships are due. If you would like to become a chamber member, please contact Sharee at the chamber office 124 S. Penn or call 785-475-3441. The chamber is for businesses, organizations, farmer/ranchers, individuals, and nonprofits. We would love to have you become a chamber member.
Some of the benefits of becoming a chamber member includes; your business information is added to our website, we are doing chamber Spotlights on our Facebook page, we will share your business Facebook posts, chamber bucks can be spent at your business and much more. Your memberships also help us bring events to our community such as; the Easter egg hunt up, The Carfest, Up In Smoke, craft show, light parade and much more.
One of our upcoming events is a community conversation on mental health awareness. This will be held on January 29 at 6:30 at the Sunflower Cinema. This event is sponsored by the EDC and chamber.
Featured guest will be representatives from high Plains Mental Health Center. This discussion is geared for 18+-year-olds.
Mental health impacts all of us in every aspect of our lives. High Plains Mental Health representatives will provide guidance on recognizing signs of mental distress and steps to help prevent suicides and more.
Sharee, our EDC/Chamber Director and others have worked very hard to bring this mental health awareness seminar to Oberlin. Please watch our chamber Facebook page for more information regarding this event. We hope to see you all there!
Our Chamber meetings are the first Thursdays of every month at noon, at the EDC building. All meetings are open to the public and we would like to invite you to attend.
