The present Chamber of Commerce is an outgrowth of the Oberlin Booster Club, which was organized in 1914 for the purpose of working for the betterment of the social, commercial and moral conditions in Oberlin.
In 1939, the Chamber promoted the Highway 36 Association, put on Christmas programs, was responsible for numerous town celebrations, parades and barbecues and worked on maintenance at Oberlin Sappa Creek State Park (now Sappa Park.)
Today, the Oberlin-Decatur Area Chamber of Commerce is still doing those things and still working for the social and commercial betterment of the communities and businesses it serves.
