Color Decatur County committee had the first mural completed on the bandshell in the Oberlin City Park. We are ecstatic with the way the mural turned out. It is one thing to see the design on a computer screen but to see it actually completed is simply amazing.
Some Girls and A Mural started their work on Sept 3rd and completed the mural on Sept 5th. Audry & Stacey were wonderful to work with from the designing process to the finished project. To watch them work on the mural and the different states was incredible.
A ribbon cutting & BBQ was held on Friday Sept 6th. The DCHS/JHS students, principal, & teachers attended the ribbon cutting along with community members.
Thanks to the City of Oberlin mayor & city council for allowing us to use the bandshell for our first project. Thanks to all the extra help from the city’s work crews throughout the week.
Our second mural has just started on the north side of the Nex-Tech building. The Color Decatur County mural committee scraped, primed, and applied the base paint color for our local artist Linda Manning to complete. Linda will begin painting in the next day or two. We can’t wait to show you this mural!
Our third mural will go on the north side of the Plummer-Goober funeral home next year. We will be working with Some Girls & A Mural on this project.

This winter our committee will be working on different fundraisers. So be on the look out for those as well.
If you would like to make a donation to Color Decatur County to help fund more murals, they can be sent to the Decatur County EDC. The EDC is a 501c3 organizations so donations can be tax deductible.
